sounds familiar... Dad doesn't like the tree up after about the end of January. We keep it up until about the end of February. why don't they understand that we need to keep the christmas spirit all year round? Part of that includes having your christmas tree with your pretty glass ornaments up 24/7. my mom once had her christmas tree up all year long. if you want to hear the very funny story, mom can tell you.
I wouldn't mind decorations early, but I don't want them up after the first week of January. Does that make me Mrs. Grinch?!

of course not!!! i can understand why one wouldn't want christmas decorations up after christmas. You have to start getting ready for Valentines Day. We tend to be lazy (we put up the decorations and are just too tired out to take them down again in 4 weeks). part of our "christmas decoration" is winterized curtains that are christmasy, but also highly functional for keeping out brutal (and I mean Brutal) winter drafts coming in from our way too many windows, which last until the end of March. We... try to have our christmas decorations down before easter. back in 2020, we kept the winter curtains up for a while longer. Mom always knows best. We ended up getting a MOTHERS DAY BLIZZARD!!!! WE ARE IN THE USA!!! WE ARE NOT SUPPOSED TO GET BLIZZARDS AFTER THE BEGINING OF MAY!!!
Of course, a few weeks before we had a easter blizzard that knocked out our power for a week while we were in lockdown making doll dresses ('cause that's what you do when you have a overly large stash of fabric and have nothing else to do because you are stuck in lockdown, right??).

A few years ago my husband took me to VT for my birthday (may 14). We woke up to snow on the ground! :th

Just depends which part of the US you're in.

don't you just LOVE snow on a day when it's waayy to late for snow? pretty soon we'll be having snowstormes from December until July! My favorite time is when there's no snow for christmas, but a few days after, when you need to go somewhere... ❄️S❄️N❄️O❄️W❄️
