Tonight is the night.

Ok, eggs are in.. I have a reptipro 5000 incubator.. seems to be working great, but a big temp difference on the upper level and bottom. Does anyone know if it's ok to use a temperature gun on the eggs? The eggs ate the bottom are around 95/96 degrees, and the upper level is 100-102. I think 95 is way too cold for them, am I right?

I'm feeling a bit frustrated about this.. and I'm not sure what I can do to get it hotter at the bottom. I put the eggs on a cotton cloth, that might help a little bit.

Started my first batch ever the day before Christmas. I am excited to see if we get chicks.
It has been a long time in coming after importing and raising my BLR wyandotte flock to get eggs from them.
Then got the silkie itch too. I hear they are a lot harder to get a good hatch rate out of.
Haven't tried them yet.
