you sure of those breeds? the silkie looks like a splash to me... and that cochin doesnt look blue. anyways cool pics! i like the eggs - looks like you are gettin a good variety! sorry about cari... she looked like she was a pretty girl though (at least from the back)

Wow, you have a very well truely barred rock. It's not cuckoo like most are. Where did you get them from?

no, im not sure about the color varietys I actually found out this past week that she is a splash- I just forgot, as for the cochin shes mostly blue however she has some red streaks here and thee especially around her neck. Also that was the front of cari the dark spot is her head

I saw some barred rocks at the lane county fair ( eugene OR), so I asked the lady that was showing them if she has any that she would sell to me , and she said that she dosen't have any at the fair but she could bring some of her pullets from her place in from me. I ended up just buying one. I have her name and number if you e-mail me I will give it to you, how ever i don't want to give it out to anyone else No offence to anyone but I don't know if she would want me to or not..... My pullet is really tame and getting to be more so every day

Good for you! I'm guessing you're about 13yrs old. When I was your age I was really into poultry, too. I had all kinds of birds that I bought, sold, and showed. That was what gave me my spending money in Jr. High. Everyone at my school called me the chicken man. In highschool, I joined FFA and started raising and showing broilers, but I always like my fancies alot better. Nowadays, I have chickens to save money on eggs, and pest control. Plus, my kids can learn alot from raising livestock. It teaches them about responsiblity, kindness, and how the circle of life works. Stay at it, and don't let anyone make you feel uncool because you like birds. Because you are cool! Good luck with your shows!
