Too big?

So is 16ft in length and 8ft wide chicken run big enough for 5 bantams and 1 buff Orpington?

I will be letting them free range every day for an hour or more if I’m around otherwise they will be in the run, I will have a swing, 2 perches, 2 dust bath places.

The way chicken math works around my place and with my wife, 6 chickens would turn into 15 in about four weeks. So yeah, it works.

No such thing as too big! Yours is good @ about 20 sq ft per bird.

My run is over 400 sq ft for my 8 chickens. It's just about right for my flock... for now, until chicken math strikes again!

Me, too! You can always buy sexed chicks. When I bought straight run chicks, I made sure I had a plan for roosters beforehand. There are too many unwanted roos out there. It's sad. And a little angering.

As it’s my first time, we hatched them ourselves and bought 3 without even thinking about checking their sex. I’m so annoyed with myself. My son is attached to them now!
