I had left our stroller out on the porch when we got home on Tuesday evening, and when I went out to get it out of the rain about 10 minutes ago, I see this:

Our two kittens, Kittykins and Alley, seeking refuge from the rain in the bottom netting of the stroller. I left it out in the rain, LOL.

And here is a pic of my hubby and my boy at Children's Tuesday after my little boy's heart cath.

My hubby had a heart cath about 2 years ago and was MISERABLE for almost 2 weeks.

My boy had his on Tuesday and he's running all over the house like a wild man! It's amazing how resilient kids are, you know?

Thanks for letting me share.

Awww, cute kitties. Little snugglebunnies.

You son is ADORABLE!!! Oh my! I could just squeeze him all day! ( can you tell I miss my grandsons?) LOL So glad to hear he is up and running. All better now?? No more surgeries??

Unfortunately, he requires (hopefully) one more surgery to complete his repair. He was born with a congenital heart defect called Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome. No left ventrical, no functioning mitral valve, an undersized aorta, and no pulmonary arch.

He has had 2 open heart surgeries all ready, and the second surgery was complicated by a massive staph endocarditis infection and stroke. He turned one on April 11th and really is thriving in spite of his defect.

This heart cath was to check the pressures in his lungs to see if he is a candidate for the final surgery yet. His pressures were perfect, but he will probably require another recontruction of his pulmonary arch. We're looking at Christmastime probably for his final surgery. I'm all ready a total basket case over it.

HLHS can be very scary! Looks like he's doing great! My own son has Tetralogy of Fallot, and my sister had a baby in the spring with Transposition. We know all about CHD's in my family!!

My son had 2 heart surgeries, has a pacemaker, and will be going in to replace the pacer sometime in the next year or so. He is 9 now, and is our MIRACLE BABY! He spent the first ENTIRE year in PICU, with too many complications to mention and is still recovering a bit, but doing great.

Good luck with your beautiful babe!

I have Tetralogy of Fallot also. It's been corrected twice...I have to have a Cardiac Ablation in 2003, because there were some short circuits and some short cuts there were giving me arrthymias.
I've had 6catheterizations and 2 shunts...
This was all done in the late 60's early 70's.
Things have come sooo far...
Hugs and kisses to all of you.

Hi jessie,
He is really quite a trooper and he looks so good for having his congenital heart disease. Children's hospital of pgh is a really great place and he is getting the best, but is still is scary. God bless you and your lil one.
