We recently put in a temporary light until we get the coop light we need to put in. Because our sunrises have mostly been at 7am and our sunsets at 4:40pm/4:44pm, I've been putting the light in at 2:50am. We've been using the light since Monday at 3am.
I was wondering if I've been turning it on too early in the morning or if it's completely fine??

I use artificial lighting in my coop. I'd recommend adding a little light in the morning, and a little bit at night. Perhaps try turning on at 5:30 A.M., turning off during the day, coming on before dark and going off at 8:30 P.M.

Most important is that it comes on at.the.same.time every day.
13 hours is OK.
Except for Monday when I was given the light at 3am, I've been turning it on at 2:50am every day since. Luckily I stay up for most of the night so I'm able to turn it on at the same time every day
