Too early to take down plastic wind block?

It was a little windy and rainy today but the temps were well into the 50s and the chickens seemed just fine.

It was a little windy and rainy today but the temps were well into the 50s and the chickens seemed just fine.

I’ve opened mine up a bit because of the warm temps, but the winds really kick up in the afternoon and my birds don’t like that at all.

Our main concern for the chicks is keeping them out of drafts and wind. I covered my run with plastic this year and I can't yet take it down because we have that nasty four-letter S word in our forecast for this coming weekend.

The wind is my main concern. Today is a little colder. It's currently 39°F out. Itll probably hit 45 or so. It's a little breezy but not too bad. They should still be pretty well protected from the wind in the area under the coop as it in enclosed fairly well.
