If you don't have a house alarm you can use your car alarm to scare people off. Most newer cars have a alarm button on them. You can activate it from inside your house.

I completely understand the fear. During the Night Stalker days, an attempt to break into my apartment (lower corner unit, yellow building, his MO) sent me to my friends house for 6 weeks while he was loose.

As far as TV, I usually have it on the Food Network, if it's on at all. DH loves his evening news and he memorizes the paper every day- I can't escape.

I'd love to get rid of cable, but he'd be sad without Nascar and NFL.

I got that news live from Fox News on television. I was watching the Houston high speed chase and it came in as breaking news. It's not certain yet whether this is the guy, but they said a shootout did occur and the person was driving the same type of car that was described by the serial killer. The suspect in the shootout has been killed.
 
I have 2 black GSDs (german shepherds), 1 wolf/GSD, and 2 mini dachshunds, plus a couple of guns in my bedroom.
