Too hot for broody hen? 🥵

It’s pretty hot here for me and my flock and I have a broody hen. I’m super worried about her she’s just standing over her eggs and panting! I don’t know what to do! Will she be okay or do I need to pull her off for a little?
You might like to soak her feet in water every now and then. It helps cool her down.
Last summer my broody hen was like that, she also lifted her head up, eyes closed, mouth open to breath. She was in my garage so she was undercover, open space. It was just a hot summer day. I was so worried. I put a bit of ice in her drinking water, and soaked her feet in water every now and then. She cooled down after that, but then later back to it again and so it went. She was alright, she hatched the 2 eggs I gave her.

She successfully hatched two chicks and they were all fine! Thank you for the tip I’m sure she and some of my others will go broody again!

That is great, 2 babies. Congratulation!
You can bet on the hens go broody again, every spring and summer. I have 2 mother hens and 2 kids at the moment. My Pekin hen is going broody, very aggressive, all puff up whenever anyone goes near her. It is a bit of work getting them out of broodiness. I enjoy seeing mother hens and her kids. I just do the cleaning and feeding.

I love seeing the hens with their chicks. If my guesses are correct I think I might have four this year! I’m thinking of trying to slip pullets under them because they hatch so many roosters.

4 fluffy running around, cuteness overload!
That is the down side of all these joy about hatching eggs - the roosters. I find roosters are very friendly, I live in council that no rooster allowed.

The biggest problem with my roosters is that I don’t have enough hens for them all. Thankfully I found someone that will take them and not eat them.
