Too late for hardware cloth! Noooooo!

Our predators are cheetas, anacondas, giant scorpions, komodo dragons.....just kidding

We only have few street cats and mice. Mice, however, I do not see them roaming around the backyard, but they do stay in our house.

Oh no, I have another problem: The holes of my chicken wire are quite big and octagonal in shape. Will the chicken put their heads out through the holes and be grabbed by the cats?

Thanks in advance!

Oh, we do not have dogs, but very seldomly some street dogs stay at our entrance gate, although they leave every 3 days and won't come back. They are shy and sweet to us, our neighbor even kept one of her own! The dog accepted it. We do have dogs, but they are caged tightly. I think they will not become a problem.

I really don't think that cats are a problem with chicken wire.

Maybe a young chick could get hit with a cat's paw through it, but I still don't think that would be likely.

How big are these holes in the chicken wire?

Just put a second layer of chicken wire off set a little so the holes DONT line up and that should strengthen it and makes the holes smaller.
