too late for move to brood box?

I am planning to try and put some chicks under my broody girl, Shorty. Should I have moved Shorty to the brood box before now? I'm planning to pick the chicks up Monday and was going to put them under her Monday night after the hens had all been settled in the coop for a couple hours.

I don't know that she's that attached to any box; she keeps moving between 3 different boxes (usu. ones that someone's just laid an egg in).

I am prepared to raise the chicks myself if the graft doesn't take.

I might try leaving her a few eggs to sit on for a few days, then at night replace eggs with chicks. I can't wait to hear what happens

This is my favourite pastime, putting chickies under broodies!
Now, how long as she been broody for, If she is "sitting Firm" wait 2 weeks before trying it!
