too long time brooder

i have a brahma who has been brooding for about a month now. she is only 8 months old, no rooster here. i pull her out of the nesting box once or twice a day to make sure she is eating and getting water. just wanting to know if this is normal behavior? how long can i expect this to last? is there anything i should do to encourage her out?

Can your close the nesting box or do you have other chickens that use it?

i can close the coop door for the day but then it would be easter egg hunting, which would be fine briefly. are suggesting if i keep her from the box then she will go back to her wandering with the flock ways?
