Help, I have 4 drakelings left from last hatch.
They are just about fully grown now.
I have advertised them for sale, even 1/2 price but no one has rung me about them.
Ed wants roast duck now.
They are nearly flying.
Im having improper thoughts about taking them to my old horse paddock dam and seeing how they go.
And Im trying to think of a kind person whom I know who has a dam on their property nearby so i can drop in and visit them and see how they are going.
And Im thinking we may have to cull.
The mumma has gone off the lay and she is loud.
Im trying to sell her and her drake as a breeding pair as well.
I am lost and dont know what to do.
As much as I love them, they are not tame, i cant pat them, they make a huge mess and use a lot of water.
Does anyone want some????!!!!
Any advice???

You can smack me but I like Ed's idea. Roast duck sounds
so good. MMMMMM.

Oh wait, you're a vegetarian aren't you?

Another option is to dig another pond. You buy the airline tickets for
me and I'll dig it for you.

Dont worry, its like having 2 many roos I guess, however they are such beautiful creatures and I hate to cull something so beautiful, but what do i do.
Its turned me off breeding ducks, thats it, no more.

Dang.........I'd like to have them. Maybe if you turned them loose they would fly my way! Would be cheaper than shipping! LOL This is one of those times when, "I wish I were there"

I'm in the same boat with you right now w/4 pekin drakes

And trust me...pekin drakes eat ALOT more than malards, for sure

Anyhow, I am about to try & give them to good homes w/chicken ppl, and if that doesn't work, I am going to donate them to a local 'nature park' where I was told by the park ranger that they love to get ducks.
