Hi, all. I have an interesting puzzle to solve. We currently have four hens and one drake, all between 1 and 1.5 years of age. Every night, they are put in a pen in our garage for bed/shenanigans (whatever ducks do at night). On a typical morning, we’ll find anywhere from 2-4 eggs in the pen. Last night, I completely cleaned out all the bedding and replaced it with fresh straw before putting the ducks away. This morning, we had six eggs. How is this possible with only four girls? The only way I can think of is if they were hiding their eggs, but that can’t be, as I completely cleaned everything out immediately before. Has anyone had a duck lay multiple eggs in a day? Have you had multiple ducks lay multiple eggs the same day? I’m just baffled. Also, before anyone asks- yes, we are absolutely positive our drake is actually a drake.
