Too many eggs.

I keep reading where members say they get more eggs per day than they have hens. This is not possible. A hen can't lay more than one egg a day.

My Klara, (RIR) gave me 3 eggs in one day! My Lucy, (CM) gave me 3 eggs in one huge egg! (2 yolks in the big outer shell and another smaller egg with the shell, inside the huge egg!) Crazy chickens! ~Beulah

You better research how an egg is produced.

It is possible but rare. If a hen short cycles, yes they do that, has one ready while on the roost and holds it till the morning. While she holding the first egg another yoke is released and starts is journey to be finished and laid the same day. Not normal but it happens. If a hen lays more than one egg a day regularly there may be problems.

I got 2 eggs a day from the same hen, but ONLY because I can tell her eggs apart is because

She layed when she was on the roost (So the egg was covered in poop)
Only one other hen lays light brown like her.
I got another egg, again under the roost, that was soft shelled. So evidence points she layed 2 in 1 day, but one was soft shelled.
