I've noticed too many new members posting articles that should be threads. Some of them are urgent! Like if their chicken got attacked by a fox or something.

There are other things too, like "What gender is my chicken?" in the articles section. The member is asking a question, not sharing information.

I was wondering if there is any way to have new members not be able to post articles for the first few days they are on BYC? Then they would need to post threads. Because lots of new members join because they need to ask "How do I treat this injury???" or something.

So once that is over with - they will probably be used to posting threads, etc.

Do you get what I'm saying?
Thanks.

When you see these, will you please post a comment in their article that says something like "Hello and welcome to BYC, this is the article section, you will get more help if you start a thread here:
https://www.backyardchickens.com/forums/emergencies-diseases-injuries-and-cures.10/post-thread".

Then if you don't mind, send me a message and I will keep an eye on the article and delete it once the member starts a thread.

I've been doing the first part of what you said, but not sending you a message. I'll start doing that! Should I just PM you or report the post?

I also notice the same questions over and over and I wonder if they don't do a search to see if the topic or answer has not already been addressed.
That doesn't bother me, and I actually prefer it when people start new threads.

This has been going on for a year or more. It's not new.
