too many rabbits. please help me.

It's illegal to "set them free in the wild", and irresponsible. Take them to your local animal shelter. Or sell/give them to someone for meat. Always spay and neuter pets.

I agree with the others about setting them free. Unless you set them free on your own property, ie. freerange, then most states have laws against releasing domestic animals. I think it is more humane to euthanize (via vet, for food, etc) than dumping an animal.

Try craigslist. That seems to be a fairly good place for getting rid of animals.

Put them in a box and take them to a livestock sale. Do not turn them loose on some one else's property, that can land you in jail.

And I have to ask, why would you turn them loose to die some kind of horrible death, when you could give them to someone to provide a meal after a humane death?? Think about it, please.

Too bad you're in TX, I need a whole bunch if rabbits and nobody around here is giving any up lol ;)

Walmart, Target, grocery store, box and a sign... Lol you could maybe even get away with just leaving the box there while you shop, and might come out to an empty box! :D (I don't mean leave the box there forever unattended, though, gotta be clear)

Why I didn't snag that box of bunnies from that guy at Target two weeks ago is beyond me lol...

Oh I remember, it was because DH took too long to answer his phone and when I came back 10 minutes later, all 6 of them, gone :(

It was my idea to set them free (see post #4). All of you are right, don't do something illegal, didn't know it was illegal and wouldn't have suggested it if I knew.

Please don't put them in a box either, and leave them for someone to find! That could be a very horrible death.

If you cannot find someone who really wants them, and will take good care of them, or butcher humanely, animal shelters are around for these types of situations.
