Too many roos

okay, so a bit ago I was on here trying to figure out the sex of my rhode island reds. I had purchased 14 from a pullet bin. As they grew bigger I noticed differences that made me question too or pullet.Unfortunately, I only ended up with one pullet. I still have 7 beautiful roos. They are very gentle considering. Some of them have amazing blueish feathering. I need to find a new home for all of them. Any suggestions?

Too many roosters leads to fighting and bloodshed. There are websites you can use to relocate your rooster. Unfortunately, some may end up in your freezer if there are no takers. Warning: there are too many roosters and not enough people who actually want them.

also, rule of thumb is 2 roosters for every 10-12 hens.

Post pictures of them on Craigs List and on your local BYC thread. RIR are fairly common birds and sounds like these are hatchery birds. Be prepared to give them away to find them good homes. Don't be too surprised if people want to eat them. You may be able to find local people looking for free roosters to start a flock as well, which is great if you can find them. Or if you prefer to eat them yourself there may be local places that will help you process them for a small fee.

The natural arrangement is a 1:1 ratio. This why 50% of chicks hatched are male and the other 50% female. The aberrations that people force on chickens once domesticated has little to do with nature.
If I was going to have a rule of thumb. 1:1 is where I would start.
