I have an abundance of extra roos. My current pen is starting to get too crowded. I have a 30'x40' area that I can easily convert to a "bachelor pad" if you will. I have about 25-30 of them. I was thinking about putting them all together until they are big enough to butcher (20-24 weeks).

Has anyone else done this? Do they fight and beat each other up? Good idea or bad idea?

Thanks.

If there are no hens to fight over, they will behave much like a flock of hens with no rooster. You will have pecking order issues but nothing worse than with all hens. Sometimes all hen flocks have issues, but your odds are pretty good. I'd say go for it.

Do you mean not in the pen with them, or not within sight/hearing?

They will be out of sight and out of hearing distance. I'll be moving them to a different barn that has block walls(old milking parlor). I didn't know that's what triggered aggresive behavior in roos. I know they're going to rumble some, I just don't want it to be to the point where they're seriously hurting each other.

Thanks for the info.
