I've been letting my younger chickens play in the older ones coop/run area while the older ones were free ranging, while the younger ones are in there they eat the layer feed! I lately read that the younger ones can get a calcium overdose by eating the layer feed, is this true? if so, what can I do to keep them from getting sick since they have already been in there eating layer feed for at least an hour (not eating constantly for the whole hour, just eating the amount that they would usually eat of there medicated feed) every day for the last week. Please help, thanks.

Your littles will be fine. Most folks here with flocks of mixed ages feed a flock raiser or all-in-one and add a calcium source like oyster shell.
