Too much food for the duckies???

Ok-- REALLY Newbie question- but we know NADA about Ducks...

We were reading how unlimited feeding can lead to overeating and "fatty liver" in ducks...
are we supposed to take away food at night-- or have un-limited access as babies, then change it as they age????

HELP! My Duckies are for Pets/Eggs-- NOT Foie Gras!!

When they are young(1-4 weeks) give them unlimited feed. 5-rest of life feed 2-3 times aday, ONLY if they sre overweight.


P.s ducks generally only eat what they need to survive.

ducks if always kept on free choice food will not over indulge. If you take food away and give it back they will try to eat all they can as fast as they can. this can cause more problems. There are also different breeds that will act differently. most all my ducks are on free choice food all the time. when I see the food is gone I fill the bowl again.
