Hi. Today was the 3rd day of incubation and i had done some modifications to my incubator to allow better air circulation and i had a look at the hygrometer and it was on 60%

I think it was on 60% for about 24 hours. Is this going to cause the hatch rate to significantly go down? Or does the humidity in the first few days not matter all that much? I was supposed to keep it around 35-40%. thanks

if it was only for a couple days, i woulnd't worry too much.

just try and keep it down until the 18th day...about 40% or so.

i'm sure your eggies are ok.

I'll let you know tomorrow. I had my humidity at about 62% for the first half of incubation (book said to aim for 60%). Then after doing some research online (and noticing that my air cells were way too small), I put it down to 40% for the last week or so. Now I'm hatching and put it back up to 70%. I heard a "cheep" yesterday, and thought I might've heard one this morning, but not sure. They are due tomorrow.

ETA - BTW, my air cells were still way small on the 18th day.

Ok, my brother just texted me and told me a chick already hatched. Due date's not until tomorrow, but I guess it couldn't wait. That's gotta be pretty good odds already, huh?
