Ok, I am a total "newbie" when it comes to a proud chicken daddy of 4 "daughters". LOL All 4 still youngsters. born late October '20. I made it a habit by spoiling them by feeding them every morning a bowl full of fresh veggies and fruits and dried insects and also once a while crumble feed besides their chicken feed of course. Is this too much? I don't want to harm them. They of course love me for that. And I want to give them the best life possible of course. Tell me. Am I overdoing it? Thank you, guys. Btw, LOL Their names are Gerda, Patrizia, Kalina,

and Claudette.

Treats should only be around 10% of their diet. Chickens normally eat 1/4 pound or half a cup of feed a day. Weigh or measure your treats, to make sure they consist of 10% or less of their diet. It sounds like you are likely going over 10%.
@Kiki also loves talking about treats.
Throw the treats in the trash...I might have to change my title to this.

Hold up...let me read back real quick.

Thank you. Will it them though?Just curious?
I presume you mean hurt them? Yes. As Kiki said, they won’t have a complete diet. Along with them filling up on unhealthy and not nutritious food, which will make them not want to eat the feed specially formulated to meet their bodies needs. They may also become overweight, which causes a whole other multitude of problems.

Thank you. Now I get it. Would be once a week ok to give them fruits and veggies then? As I said I am such a newbie and want them to be as happy as they can be. But of course, I don't want to harm them.
Yes, once a week is fine. Just remember, not a whole lot.
