Hello!
We have cot quail hatching eggs in the incubator getting ready for lockdown.... While getting the incubator prepped, we moved the eggs to the other incubator with the other batch of eggs. Anyway, one egg hatched!! 4 days early!

What do I feed this guy? I can't get to the feed store till Saturday it's 45 minutes away :( anything I can feed him till then? Or can he hold off for a day and a half?

Thanks in advance!

P.S. this is our first hatch :)

Another question, can i open the incubator and move the eggs back to its original incubator? I want to move them now before the other eggs start pipping.... But is that safe for the little guy that already hatched?

Hi, you can leave the little guy in the incubator for up to 24 hours without food and water. However if longer than that and you can't get some feed, put in some boiled mashed egg and little water (not enough that he could drown in. good luck. And yes you should be able to move the un hatched eggs back carefully.
