Too soon to tell?

We’ve taken to calling this chick “Biff the buff”, “Joe Biffy” in anticipation of a cockerel proclamation. Absolutely the most sweet, curious and lovable chick. Too soon to tell the sex? We are just over 4 weeks today and have a mixed flock the same age, so little to compare to though the comb seems larger than the others 😢

Too soon to tell.

But, the comb isn’t too obvious yet (or I just can’t tell in your pics). The scruffy tail area, with no tail yet, is more suspicious to me at this age. I’ve never had a male BO, although we have had females once. We’ve had some breeds, in particular BJG, where the males don’t develop their tails like the females until later, instead it’s a scruffy fluff back there for awhile.
