Hi - I'm a newbie with my first batch of chicks (from MPC - love them!) out in the coop now at about 9 weeks old. On impulse (hahahaha) I went and bought two more chicks from the feedstore about 3 weeks ago. The feedstore didn't know anything about them, so I'm going off what I learned on this website and my books. Sooo,
My new Polish is tiny! I have a Polish in my older batch who is a standard, so even assuming this new one is a bantam, she's only the size of a parakeet at about 4 weeks old. She has full wing feathers and her top is sprouting, but she seems so small. Is this normal? Literally, the size of a parakeet. She perches on my 6 year olds finger.
Thanks!
