The worst death that happens in haying is usually a young fawn. I have almost stepped on one while walking through a field. I'm glad I look at my feet when I walk

. Always be sure not to pick up wild game unless you know the animal has died. a lot of times, the doe is nearby in the woods. In fact, in Vermont it is illegal to pick up any wild animal, unless you know for a fact it is dying or the mother is dead. Last summer, I found a little baby wild cottontail rabbit in our driveway. It had a broken leg and was squirming. I brought it in to my house on a heating pad. Unfortunatley he dies during the 3rd night. Atleast he got to live a few more extra days before he died. I think he died from internal bleeding or something of that sort.

No, ticks, thread killing is MY job!!!!!! LOL I cringe mowing my yard (just got a little frog a couple if weeks ago). Afraid I would just lay down and die if I had a big field to cut! That is so incredibly sad, but I am glad the babies have a home with you. They are absolutely beautiful!!!!

Well the little duckies are doing just fine. They were moved to the outside cage last week and are absolutely loving all the space. They are growing like weeds and are going through lots of food and water. They are eating the flies that are attracted to their food/water mess and the bugs attracted to their heat lamps at night.

I figure I have a month or two to get them a pen designed and built in the backyard under the weeping willow tree which will also have a small watering hole for them. I will get some pics to post of them next week.
