Roosters are nice to have. I'd have one but my hoytie toytie neighbors would have a kitten in their Audi's if I did. Thats another story.....
I would file his nails and the 'claw' on the back of his leg. I've helped a friend do this and we used a Dremel with a file attachment and then did finish work with a large nail file. Just don't take too much off too quickly so you don't injure the nail and make sure the nail isn't getting too hot. Just do enough to make them less dangerous. I would give the girls a break for a day or two to recouperate.
Put a dark cloth over his head and lay him down on his side on a nice 'bed' of old towel etc. He should stay very still for his pedicure.
