Torn crop--is recovery even possible?

A dog grabbed one of my cockerels last night. The bird has been in shock, but seemed otherwise okay last night--no blood, able to roost. But this morning I discovered his crop is actually torn open. I can clean and bandage wound if it's possible for it to heal, but is it? Otherwise I will euthanise him. He's a good boy, a favorite of mine and he doesn't deserve to suffer.

There have been threads where people have super glued torn crops on pigeons and chickens with good success. It's worth a try if you want to save him.
