Torn webbing on duck

I noticed my male mallard duck couldn't walk to me so I went and picked it up. The web on one of his feet is torn top to bottom. It looks like maybe he caught it on barb wire while swimming.

I am keeping him in dog kennel and putting antibiotic cream and iodine on it. Any suggestions on how to treat would be appreciated.

There is also the possibility that a snapping turtle may have bitten him. Keep applying the antibiotic ointment and keep his foot as dry as is possible.

Instead of iodine, you might want to use c

hlorhexidine instead.​

Is it okay for him to get to swim in a small tub in clean water a couple of times a day? He seems happier and less stressed when he gets to swim around. Thanks for the information.

The wound looks like the dead part has fallen off and the cuts are almost healed but still green and purple color. There just not deep as they were. Looks better everyday even with him getting to swim twice a day. I was afraid that it would hurt the foot worse but when it starts bothering him he holds it out of the water and I pick him up and doctor the foot and put him back in his cage. He still will not walk. Will the webbing on his foot grow back at all? Anyway the wound looks to be healing slowly.
