Toss or leave it be?

This is my second time incubating quail, first time every last one of them died. So I'm trying again fully prepared. This egg has been cracked for a day now, toss or leave it be? I have a scattered hatch so I don't want this egg to infect the ones that are still developing.

If the chick is still alive, I would start an assisted hatch. Staggered hatches are always problematic for a variety of reasons.

That egg/chick appears to be dead, I would toss that egg. Unless you see movement, then assist.
