Hello. 2nd post here. Thanks for the assistance with my run questions a week or so ago.

Here's what I got:

My son brought home the bigger one (named Supercluck) after his pre-k class observed them hatching (small rural school). I knew it was going to happen so I had prepared for its arrival by reading as much as I could on these forums. Had it in a rubbermaid with just a 100 watt bulb in the bathroom for a week. My brother in law and I are going to convert an unused 8x8 shed I have on my property to a coop and build a run in two weeks and I thought that it was useless to build a coop and a run for one chicken that we don't even know the sex of so went to TSC today and got 9 more. Got a big metal trough and a proper heat bulb and moved them out to our well insulated garage on top of the unused pool table. I got three red sexlinks, three black sexlinks, and then even thought I was only going for 6 and my wife is still skeptical of the whole endeavor, she fell in love with the assorted bantams and we got three of those as well - I think the black one may be a silkie (black legs, black beak, haven't counted the toes) and have no idea what the red w/ stripes or the golden colored one is - sex or breed.

That's all. As they age I might try to post better pics of the bantams to get a breed ID. I don't really have any questions as I have been an avid reader of this site. Just introducing myself and my flock.

Welcome to BYC! You made a GREAT decision on what to get as a brooder! That will serve your chicks very well as they grow. Plenty of room to get away from heat as they mature and don't need supplemental heat as much.

Can anyone help me? I am new to the forum but am very concerned about my goose eggs. Mother goose died recently and was sitting on 8 eggs. I am down to 6 now. I have them in incubator, but two days ago I heard one peeping, and it was actually rolling around. Since then NOTHING. I am soooooo worried!!!!!!!!!! I have had them in the incubator for 24 days, but dont know how long she had them in the nest. She had just started laying them, and was not on the nest much. Any advise????????
