i have a 6 week old sultan.weds. i went out to feed and she was on her side and a d'uccle was standing on her.i picked her up and she was very skinny.i brought her in the house started her on electrolytes w/vitamins and have been giving her yogurt a few times a day.she eats fine and drinks fine.her poo looks fine to me.shes not active at all.shes fluffed up and when she lays down she doesnt seem to be able to get up.once i help her up she seems ok.i think thats why she mostly sleeps standing up.( she sleeps alot ) i was thinking maybe some kind of back injury?is there anything else you all can think of that i need to be doing?
thanks for any thought.

coccidiosis. Treal with corrid or sulmet. Very classic symptoms. Blood is only occasionally in the poop with cocci.

i guess it wouldnt hurt to try it.where do i get those meds? it still seems like an injury to me.

A rooster standing on a similar sized bird will not cause an injury. Jumping on, pecking and otherwise attacking, maybe. Could also be worms or lice/mites (based upon the bird's behavior). You did see, and I didn't, so you have to factor that in, but your description doesn't sound like an injury.

Most coccidiosis does NOT present with bloody stool, as is explained in the like I gave.

If it is an injury, you need to treat symptomatically.
