I had a chick get her leg tangled up in a scratched up puppy pad (don't worry, I'm getting rid of them right now) and her foot is pretty swollen. Should I soak it in an epsom salt bath?

It's hard to see in the picture, the left one is more swollen that the other one and looks a bit discolored.

Hello, if possible send a photo! Polysporin is probably your best bet I use it on my birds and they look good as new in a month or less, I’d suggest also using the polysporin 2-3 times a day for best results!

I'll try to get a pic a little later, there aren't any open wounds or anything like that. It's just filled with fluid.

Wow, that's crazy! We have used puppy pee pads for several batches of chicks with no issues like that whatsoever! We change them every evening before bedtime though so we've never seen them shred. And after about the first week we usually only keep about six chicks to a tote so the pads don't get saturated. I had no idea this was even possible! We like them because there's no dust as with most other types of bedding. Glad you caught this before it became really serious! Thanks for sharing.
