I'm looking for some ideas on how to track chicks and from which shell they hatched from. I obviously set my eggs so that they should hatch on a Saturday or Sunday, when I can keep a close eye on them, but sometimes they hatch during the night (obviously just to frustrate me... after staying up until 1am with nothing happening of course

I have heard of using underwear laundry bags so that the chick and shell stay together, while still allowing movement - does anyone here do that, or use other methods?

Thanks

The best way would be to seperate each egg in the hatcher so they can't mix after hatching. I'm thinking I'll use some sort of hardware cloth to seperate mine .

You could put a cardboard box with squares cut out for each egg while making it high enough to where they can't climb over. That would probably work or you could put a camera over it.
