tractor supply brown leghorns

Hello, has anyone else bought the brown leghorns from tractor supply? If so can any one tell me if they were straight run . I purchased 5 browns and 3 bantums . One of the bantums died from sour crop( wish I had read the thread before getting them.) I now have one bantum rooster (named Cleo) and one bantum hen (ceasar) Thats fine because they are more of a novelty. But my leghorns that is a different story I seem to have 4 roo's and one hen. Only one of the roo's crow but there is a definately a difference between the hen and the other 4. If they were not straight run someone mad a big boo boo or I just bought all the mistakes.
This one is from my daughter in law. sexlink. 3 females. NO mistakes here.

They were probably straight run. Unfortunately, some places let people pick out the chicks that they want and the more obvious females sell first. Then, everyone else that comes in and buys chicks later is stuck with a high number of males. I'm sorry you ended up with so many boys!

I cant see how they could pick them out? They never stopped moving and the workers didnt let you physically pick them up your self. They would ask which ones you wanted. and in a batch of like fifty its kind of hard to focus on one.I read that the females are darker?
