Tractor Supply question

I went online to Tractor Supply website and was looking at the different breeds .I noticed that they have a minimum order of 10 chickens. Is this true when you go into the store also? I live in the city and you can only have 6 hens and no roosters. Thanks for any and all advice

Not true in the store, it varies between 4 and 6 but talk to someone there about how many you need sometimes they'll work with you. Or try Meyers hatchery they have a 3 bird minimum.

I believe @Chickassan is right! I believe it is a 4 to 6 minimum.... I know I always got ducks in 4's. They don't have every breed though which kind of sucks. Although I'm happy with any kind, they never have the exact breed I want

I live in Rhode Island and you must buy 12 here but in next door Connecticut you only need to buy 6, see your state law or just ask at the TSC store.good luck.

It depends on the law in your state. Here in Ohio, 6 birds min. I know online can be different because of shipping. Call them and ask. All feed stores would probably be the same, by the way. Good luck!

I wish... I want to do that, just to break a broody, and they wouldn't do it. I almost bought the 6, let her raise them and then sell them.

I didn’t buy mine at tractor supply. I like to buy my animals at my local feed supply

You could have bought 6 and put some back when they walked away. They don't open the box again once they pack them up....or so iv'e heard.

Mine does a head count at the Register. You would also be paying for birds just to have them sold again.
