I’ve noticed that too. Ducks don’t go as fast, but the chicks are gone.

Not always I love my chickens, but currently there are a lot of people who know nothing about chickens panic buying with the economy and egg prices. They are in for a rude awakening when they realize they are not saving any money by raising their own eggs.

Yeah i can see that. Its like I have and breed parakeets on a small scale and when you see what goes into actually caring for them and providing to have healthy birds and babies, you make no money on selling babies at all. You might even be losing. You have to love the chickens and the eggs are just a second bonus. At least thats how I think of it. This is why we chose bantams

In September, we're going to have easy pickings of pullets from panic buyers who realized they don't need chickens.

That thought has crossed my mind.

Every Wednesday when they get them here at the three TSC Stores we are close to me they are nearly sold out.

I get the feeling that it's the panic buyer this spring. I had already decided against spring chicks, but I have no desire to compete against that. I had recently seen another customer looking for specific chicks (on a day that they had chicks). That's the customer I don't mind competing against.
