I have someone that has a pair of Muscovy and the female is currently sitting on a clutch of 10 eggs. I know nothing about ducks except are to clean and no idea what to price.

But can ducks be run in tractors?
What would they need for space and is water the same as broilers or do they need a special waterer?

we tried a pair of ducks for the first time last year - just to get our feet wet

they ate with the chickens and drankout of the two gallon waterers just fine. I could see them doing good in a tractor as well, although they really enjoyed a tub of water to float around in.
I would jump at the opportunity.

having a tub in the tractor would be tough. I would have to think of something portable for 6 - 8 ducks. I saw the clutch and there are 15 eggs she has been sitting on. So we will see what happens.

So I gather they can eat the meat bird food fine. I am sure they are great grass eaters. How long does is take to raise out muschovies?

Thanks for the info

I tractored some ducks in a 4 x 8 tractor. I just gave them a 3 gallon waterer and a big rubber bowl of food, both of which I topped off whenever they needed. They did just fine in there. They ruined my grass real quick so I had to keep them off the lawn and under a grove of pine trees I have. I moved them around under there every few days so they weren't in their own dirt. It all worked out pretty well.

You can butcher the males at around 14 weeks and the females later since there about half the size of the drakes full grown. What Im doing this year is letting my hens go broody and raise the clutches, they will have full run of the yard and swamp, when they turn about 12 weeks I will keep them in a run and fatten them up for a couple weeks.
