Does anyone trade their home grown chicken for grass fed beef? What ratio do you use? lb for lb or no?

Great question! I would like to see the answers to this question. I have thought about this as well. I do not think I can raise a cow for 1 to 2 years without falling in love.

i always trade based on final sale price

if i sell my chicken for $3/lb and he sells his beef for 3/lb then ya its pound for pound

if i trade my $3 chicken for $8 lamb.... its almost 3 lbs of chicken for 1 lb of lamb.

I haven't yet, but growing up we traded although not chicken. We always traded half a beef (that we raised) for a whole hog I guess that's pretty much pound for pound and how I would hope to do it in the future.
