Tragedy last night

Here is the story:

Broody Duck named Olive has been sitting on 12 eggs for roughly two weeks.

She was killed by a skunk last night. So many tears.

We found her this morning around 7:20 am and I rushed her eggs to a woman who has a professional egg hatching incubator. The woman is a super pro regarding incubation and hatching. She seemed optimistic about some of the eggs making it.

At the least the eggs were alone for 5 hours, at the most 8.

What do you think?

More tears.

UPDATE:

WAHOO!!! I was called early this morning by the woman who has the incubator that Olive's eggs were in and two have hatched and one more is working on joining the world right now!!

My little miracle babies!! What a happy day!!! Olive would be to happy. She was such a good Mama Duck
