Sorry you lost one of your chickens do you know what was wrong ?
Before I put up the electric fence the raccoons were working the duck side of the run. Luckily I check it daily and saw what they were doing. Always lock them in at night. As far as integrating, that little one probably feels so lost.i got lucky, when I brought home the two runners they integrated in 10 seconds. I was so very relieved after seeing my longest ever chicken integration.
Can you get a couple more the same age as the youngest one?
I’ve lost s few to those also. Very sorryinternal laying or acites or something similar, she was doing the penguin walk and not right, another member walked me through looking for a stuck egg, but no success and she didn't make it, the only good part is that it is not contagious and I am not worried about the others, I feel bad though because her buddy has been roosting all alone ever since separate from the flock
Oh they've been getting corn and peas like crazy. The little one, Ginger, is having some issues with her neck. When I picked her up there was a knot on both sides, and when she lowers her head she keeps her "chin" up against her chest. I put her in the kiddie pool (her first time) and she wanted to preen so bad but couldn't extend her neck enough to do heher chest feathers. There's a crook in it. She's eating and drinking so I figure this will go away with time. Had one with neck issues after a tree limb fell and I assume hit her. She was fine after about a week. She also had the chest injury so that could be hurting her when she leans forward. She can turn it well it seems, she just slowly draws it back in.@wallawu how are your ducks doing today? Have they calmed down some since the predator attack? Maybe some cheerios would help![]()
