training chickens to stay out of yard??

Welcome to Northwoods wisconsin, where all we HAVE is woods. Our house sits on mabey 1/2 acre of cleared yard, but everything else is woods. The predator problem HAS been on my mind, I actually had a dream two nights ago that there were weasels (like 50 of them) attacking our coop and run area.
Guess I need to post a question on the predator page of how to trap weasels....
