Training My Cow, Bonnie-Lass!

Tee hee, I find bottle raised calves the biggest jerks to train. xD give me a quiet but not handled much cow any day to start with. I can bring them around with treats and time, but those bottle raised hussies just... ugh.

personally I find the most important but hardest part of it is to not get frustrated when they do stupid cow things. It just makes you backtrack on any progress you’ve made. My biggest lesson for myself is to give them more space and not put as much pressure on them, based on their reaction.
It may take a little longer this time around, but boy do you notice a difference the next time you have to work that animal. :)

I think you should share your information regardless of who is reading. Found this by mistake and I do not own any cows but I love them enough to want to know more... y'know... just in case my dreams of owning one comes true.
Or make an article with the information and some pictures :D

I put this in a different thread thinking it was mine lol!!!!!

Okay, I’m going to work with our steer to show y’all what I mean! He does not like to be messed with so it perfect lol!

Okay so I feed our 3 cows and meanwhile he is eating I slowly walk up to him and start to pet him. If he backs up I will back way from him and give the steer the space he wants. Please remember just because it works for me don’t mean it will for you! One other thing if you are getting a new cow and it’s scared remember that it’s in a new environment and will not know you! Try to put yourself in your animals hooves!
