We have a new rescue pyrenees. He is 2. He came from a small backyard and has no experience with any
other animals except dogs. He whines when the cats come near and keeps far away from the
horses. He was ignoring the chickens until the morning when a chicken came up to him and he tried to
grab it. He is still on a leash so I quickly corrected him. What advice can you give me about training him
to ignore the chickens. Thanks!

I foster Pyr's for a rescue here in TX. I just love the big fluff balls.

The best luck I have had is to just give them time and correction. Pyr's are stubborn to a fault. Most do not respond to forcefull correction, but a stern "NO" works wonders.

The like to learn and do in their own time.

The last male we had took about a month to get used to the cats and chickens. He was not ever safe to let in their run, but he loved to guard them.

Take your time with him - they are very very smart.

good luck
