I need some help PLEASE!!

So my ducks and chickens have been raised on bucket watering systems since they were old enough too. Well I got tired of hauling water to their coop every day and decided I would make my own system with the nipples. I took a 3 1/2 gallon bucket and added the nipples. It is suspended from the coop ceiling as to what I would think is the right height. I have had it in there since Sunday and the water has not moved. I am not sure how to get them to drink from it. When I go in there they just want to get outside. I am concerned.

THANKS for any advice.

I'm going to follow because I'm going to use a similar watering plan when I let my chicks out of the coop and have the same fear.

Are they getting water from somewhere else? Mine figured it out in an hour or so. My guess is they are not thirsty enough to feel the need to figure it out....

They have no water from about dark when they go in the coop until late morning 11-12. They have access when they are outside. I figured they would have figured it out by now. Maybe I need to leave them in longer.

My 4 new chicks figured it out VERY quick. They saw water drops falling from the nipples and started jumping to try to reach it. I put a block of wood under it and immediately they began using the nipples.
