tramatic experience

My own dog went after some of my chickens a week ago. The dog got ahold of one of my hens. She has a gash on her back near her rear. Its clean and not infected but its going to heal the same way it looks now. This hen was laying 1 egg a day.. sometimes 2. Now she has not laid since. Is it possible for a tramatic event to stop a hen from laying?

Very much so. Chickens are susceptible to stress, and she'll lay again once she's healed and calmed down.

Is she where the dog won't bother her? That might be affecting things?

Can she still see/hear the dog? I don't know how that would affect things, but I have a feeling it would.

Give her time, perhaps some extra protein, and she should be laying again in a couple/few weeks.
