I'm at the start of planning a run expansion for my ladies, and was planning on using an old trampoline for the frame. I have looked at lots of plans and ideas, and found an idea I think will work of using PVC to raise up the frame, as I want to be able to walk into it.
So, thoughts, ideas, comments on what has worked for you and what hasn’t?

My trampoline is the 12’ diameter one, for reference.

Also for reference, what I’m working with. My frame and my current run. I plan on connecting the two with a chicken tunnel that I can partially block as once they’re old enough to go outside, this will be where my chicks live until they integrate. Forgive my mess please.

I've recently been using a redundant 12' trampoline as a temporary run, with scaffolding netting round the sides, hooked and pinned on construction rebars pushed into the ground. It's too low to walk in but I can get in and around under the canvas if I have to, though that rarely happened. It's mobile like my coop, so I was able to move everything to a new area after a week when the grass needed it; it cost next to nothing; the canvas protected the hens from the goshawk who inhabits these parts; and the floppy flappy netting worked as per theory to keep the hens in and deter foxes etc. who apparently fear getting caught in it. So I'm v happy with it. Now those hens are trained and fully free ranging, I plan to use it again to integrate some new members of the flock who are currently in quarantine.

Between 1.5 and 1.75, if you can believe it. What size is a t post?
Close to that but bigger..I think..if it wasn't pouring rain I'd go out and check right now.
Maybe later when I do chicken chores.
Or do you have a Tpost laying around...go try it!

ETA: Now that I think about it,
I'm pretty sure I could fit a 1.5" PVC(1.5 inside diameter) over a Tpost.
Played with this when designing my run rafter clamps.
Ended up going with 2" PVC because 3/4" EMT wouldn't fit inside 1.5" with Tpost.
I'll bet they used 2" PVC as risers in the pic you posted above.

I think so too. I went and bout 2” pipe yesterday to get started. Was thrilled to find that 10’ of pipe fits inside my SUV. Lol But since I don’t want to go that tall, I’m going to have to cut it down.
