Transition age

Hi there! My husband and I are raising our second brood of chicks, It has been awhile since we raised our first group of girls and we can’t remember at what age we transitioned our babies from the brooder to their big girl coop outside... we live in South Texas and the weather is quite warm already even in the evenings. At what age, and what method did y’all make the change?

Mine go out when they are done with extra heat. Generally at 4-8 weeks. They go into a pen within my shed. After a week or two I start supervised mingling. I continue that until I feel chicks are fine being out without me watching constantly. I continue to lock them separately for a few more weeks to months.
