Our chicks hatched on June 6th. Third time raising chicks in a brooder and these 9 are messy!! They’re honestly bigger than my other flocks were at this age. My partner wants to move them outdoors to our small chicken coop/run. It’s attached to our main chicken run, so they’ll get some interaction with our other chickens. We live in North Carolina, so temps fluctuate 90-80s during the day and mid 70s at night. Could we move them outside at this point? I told him no, but I wanted to check and see with others that may have, or haven’t done the same. Thank you!

There is so much crazy info out there when place them outside. When mine were 2 weeks old I started putting them outside for a few hours a day and will be moving them out at the month mark. I know we care a lot for our chickens and just over think it and forget they are meant to be outside. I get weather does play a huge roll in it too though.

Mine start going outside for short periods at two days old unless the weather is really awful!
